Only if the youth is willing to make a solemn promise will the man admit him into his family. Is that not reasonable?
Oh, the solemn promise. Well that solves everything, doesn't it? No WT, it's not reasonable. That's ridiculous.
tuesday, october 4. offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance.rom.
12:1, the new english bible.. before someone who is alienated from god can become a member of gods family of approved servants, he first needs to make a solemn promise to jehovah.
to understand why, imagine a respectable father who shows kind interest in an orphaned youth and wishes to adopt him as a member of his own family.
Only if the youth is willing to make a solemn promise will the man admit him into his family. Is that not reasonable?

do you think is one of the unhealthy teachings among the wt?
i mean humans has been created with emotional and physical needs that relationships provide, right?.
I think singleness has loads of benefits. And I think young people would benefit from spending some of their adult years single and free. Time taken to get to know yourself and live for yourself is invaluable.
But, WT world encourages a weirdness to singleness. No dating, no flirting, no leaving home or getting an education. Spend that youthful energy "promoting kingdom interests."
And that is what makes what should be some of the best years of your life a total dud.
we had an elder that was hung up on mens haircuts he had a real thing about how short mens hair should be and even told one bro off for parting his hair down the middle.. even told one bro to shave off his sideburns.. a c.o who was paronoid about sound always telling the bro in charge off.. .
a d.o who orded the attendants to remove crying babys from assemblys on more than a few occations...hans hubler for those that know him..
One CO was strangely obsessed about women wearing ankle bracelets. He said "just like a bracelet draws attention to the wrist, ankle bracelets are to draw attention to the....ah yes friends, the ankles...." Weirdo.

I lost a family member after she refused blood. Chances are it would have prolonged her life for many years.

if we build such faith though god's war we will survive!.
if we have such faith accompanied by works,.
I had one of these looney tunes pop in my head the other day. Almost passed out when I realized I was humming it. Can't remember which one right now.
Thanks a lot BOC. Gonna pay you back for this one.
dear friends:.
for years now after my exit from the wtbts i have searched for god.
as i have previously mentioned in other threads i looked into many other religions, including druidry, zen and tibetan buddhism (not really a religion), asatru, native american shamanism, kemetic orthodoxy, gnosticism and pandeism.
The greatest relief of my life came when I accepted that I just didn't have the answers. And I've been fine ever since.
even though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..
I absolutely believed I would live forever. Until I was in my mid 20's, then I started to think, "Hey, I keep having birthdays. What if I keep getting older? Then what's gonna happen?"
It wasn't until several years later though that I confronted my own mortality. What a blow!
